About PowderDays

PowderDays is a free ski trip planning tool that helps skiers and snowboarders find the best time to visit their favorite resorts. We analyze 10 years of historical snowfall data so you can plan your trip with confidence.

How It Works

Select any of our 50+ supported ski resorts worldwide, choose your travel dates, and PowderDays will analyze a decade of historical weather data for that location and time period. You get a snow confidence score, historical snowfall charts, and a personalized trip recommendation to help you decide when to go.

Our Data

All weather data comes from Open-Meteo, which provides free access to historical weather archives from national weather services around the world. We use snowfall, snow depth, temperature, and precipitation data going back 10 years to calculate our snow confidence scores.

PowderDays currently covers 50+ ski resorts across North America, Europe, and Japan, including popular destinations like Chamonix, Whistler, Niseko, Vail, Zermatt, and many more. Each resort page provides elevation data, coordinates, and a direct link to analyze snow conditions for your chosen dates.

Our interactive Snow Stories feature presents your trip analysis in a visual, Instagram Stories-style format. Swipe through slides showing historical snowfall patterns, day-by-day forecasts, and your overall snow confidence score — perfect for sharing with your ski crew.
